Can urinating on your dog keep him from growling and baring its teeth.?

I ask my dog to move out of a narrow walk way, or go outside when I leave for work and he growls and bares his teeth. My father told me to piss on him. Is he right? Will this help?

Can urinating on your dog keep him from growling and baring its teeth.?
Did your father want a daughter....I sure wouldn't pull one of my favorite body parts out of my pants in front of a growling dog !Methinks someone has a sick sense of humor
Reply:Would you want to expose something you REALLY need to a dog that can bite it off?
Reply:...WHAT?!

Okay,what?!

...I can't stop reacting to this one. WHAT?!
Reply:I have never heard that one before. Bite his ear or something to show him whose boss. Dont bite too hard but just enough that he can feel it. You could also go to an obedience class with him.
Reply:Nope. It'll just make the dog smell bad...
Reply:maybe because you're, to him, marking your territory on him, so he would technically belong to you. then again, it might make him more PO'd
Reply:no, it will make it worst, what you should do is put your hands around his snout then he will start doing what you want him to
Reply:I have no idea, I've never heard of such a thing. However, if you pissed on me, I'd sure as hell growl and bear my teeth.
Reply:would you stop asking stupid questions if someone pissed on you? don't ever piss on a dog.
Reply:Give me a break! Piss on your father!
Reply:It's worth a try, but I'd hire an illegal to do it for me, or at least have him well fed first.
Reply:Please don't pee on your dog, take him to dog classes...or maybe you should let your dad pull out his johnson in front of a angry dog and see what happens.
Reply:Your an idiot and I hope your dog bites your wiener off!
Reply:That would be a strange way to deal with the problem. I think urination should be left where it belongs, not in the middle of the yard over the dog. And if urination will not work, will you try to defecate over your dog?

. Dogs have tendency to be on your path but growling and showing teeth is a different issue. Looks like your dog has lack of discipline and he never have been trained. You also might have been unnecessarily harsh with him. Start with taking him for a walk every day on a leash. If you can't handle it, look for advice from obedience trainer. I think you will have to earn his respect by doing your fare share of training the dog and giving him praise for job well done.
Reply:No, it will more likely make him meaner. One way to mellow him out is neuter him. Second he needs to know YOU, not him, are the boss. Find something you can shake, maybe your car keys, something that makes a loud noise. When he starts to growl or bare his teeth, shake the keys over his head, or maybe clap your hands together over his head (DON'T hit him). This may startle him some, but that's what you want. Remember to praise him when he does good things, though. When you withold the praise when he growls at you and you make the scary noise, he should eventually get the idea.
Reply:no...your dad is messing with you. All this will do is make the dog smell bad and could cause him to start doing the same in the house.
Reply:that sounds like an all around bad idea. your dog needs training, it sounds as though he is in charge of your family. you need to take him to classes ASAP before he bites you or someone else. have you ever seen anyone on any dog training show piss on the aggressive dog??? i think your dad was just joking with you, unless he enjoys visiting you in the emergency room.
Reply:call the dog whisperer
Reply:Frankly, I say piss on your Dad. Is that how he raised you -- to piss on things?? Sheesh.

What kind of obedience training has this dog been to? Who does he see as the pack alpha?
Reply:I don't think this dog wants you to leave. I wouldn't piss on him, he might bite it off.
Reply:Hmmm. First off, "piss on him" is a figure of speech. It means, let it go, ignore it, fugettaboutit. If you told your Dad the dog snarled at you and your Dad said "well screw him," you wouldn't actually . . . . You get the idea.

Second, you are the owner/master. He is the dog. You don't ask him to move; you command him to move and train him to do so. (You have to do both) If you don't know how to train your dog, get help from a dog trainer or sign up for obedience class.

A dog that growls and bares teeth at a family member is a dangerous dog. Correct it. Control it, or get rid of it.

Why do I suspect this is a smartass question?
Reply:are you sure your father wasnt, like, joking?
