Is it normal for a eight to ten month old dog to lose teeth?

She has a few side teeth lost but her front teeth are still completly there.

Is it normal for a eight to ten month old dog to lose teeth?
No, puppies start teething at 4 months of age and are finished long before 8 months. If this dog's losing teeth, she needs a trip to the vet to find out what's wrong.
Reply:no, quite abnormal
Reply:Dogs and cats loose their teeth just like children. They should grow back soon.
Reply:Puppies are babies, and just like babies/kids, they teeth. It's normal. Her adult teeth are coming in.
Reply:Sure, just like humans, they get adult teeth.
Reply:Yes, dogs have baby teeth just like people.
Reply:Dogs and cats lose their teeth just like young children do. If you don't see them growing back in a few weeks I would definetly recommend bringing her to the vet but if she's not whining in pain or anything I would just assume that she's losing her baby teeth. Normally you wouldn't even notice this but it sounds like she lost a few at once which obviously would make this more noticable.
Reply:First off, has she already lost her baby teeth?

If she has then there may be a problem. If she hasn't then

she is just getting her adult teeth just like a child would.

If you're unsure still, have your vet check her out for you.
Reply:Yes, that is unusual. Are you sure about her age? Pups begin to lose their baby teeth at about four months of age, starting with the incisors (the front teeth). The molars and pre-molars are the last to go, usually at about six months. The adult teeth are fully in at eight months. If she is losing her baby teeth, she is probably younger than you thought. Baby pre-molars look fairly small for the size of the dog, are somewhat sharp and are the color of skim milk. Adult teeth look proportionate, are not as sharp and are the color of cream. If she is losing her adult teeth, call the vet. She could have an infection or injury.
Reply:yes. dogs loose one set of teeth just like humans
Reply:I was told that dogs lose it's baby teeth like humans. I notice my puppy lost the side teeth around this age, but just can't find the lost teeth. I've looked everywhere, and still can't find it. My guess was that dogs swallow it's teeth when it fell off.
Reply:Dogs usually lose their baby teeth earlier than that. However, your dog may be a late bloomer.
Reply:This is definately normal. Dogs loose their teeth just like kids do. Some teeth fall out early because they are just "caps". Other teeth take awhile longer because they have deeper roots. It's also completely safe for the dogs to swallow thier teeth, they just come out the other end. Within a few days the new teeth will appear. Absolutely nothing to worry about!
