her teeth are really bad and shes old
An old dog with bad teeth and dont have money?
Talk to your vet and see if he/she would check her teeth and do what is possible for her and if you could set up some kind of payment arrangement.
Even talk to your local aspca/ shelter and see if they could possibly help you.
Reply:Well, there are a few solutions that may help that don't cost too much. It's very important to give her things to chew on, to knock off the plaque. If it's too late for that, you might have to just give her soft food from here on but get her a toothbrush. Seriously. They have dog toothpaste, and also there is a treatment that you can put in her water that will help to strengthen teeth, and cut down on the bad breath she no doubt has. A short trip to the nearest pet supply place will turn up more sugestions, as well, but you probably don't have to go to the vet.
Reply:Start saving. Brushing once the tarter is formed doesn't help much. When the gums are diseased they bleed, when they bleed bacteria from the mouth enters the blood stream, this bacteria affects organs such as the liver, heart and kidneys potentially leading to severe health problems. You can try to break some tarter off on your own, but chances are some teeth are going to need removal.
Borrow money if you can, your dog deserves good health care.
