Reply:It is much better for your dog for you to brush their teeth without using toothpaste. Also, giving them a dental bone can keep the plaque down as well. The Vet can brush their teeth if you can%26#039;t but if you start doing it when they are puppies, they get used to it.

Reply:I have to admit that I only brush teeth on the ones that I am showing. I%26#039;m a bad mommy and don%26#039;t seem to get around to doing it on all 6 dogs. However, I switched dog foods 1 1/2 years ago. When my 10 year old had her vet exam, she had very clean teeth! I use an all natural dog food, Canidae, and it has no food colorings. I believe this has really helped, as there is no other explanation of why a ten year old didn%26#039;t need a cleaning. Her pearly whites are still sparkling!

Reply:Yes, they make some really good products for brushing a dog%26#039;s teeth and keeping the tartar under control. My dog doesn%26#039;t mind getting his teeth brushed at all, and it is hilarious to watch him keep poking his tongue out the whole time I%26#039;m brushing LOL
