If they are wood, you would use a wood filler to fill the indentations, sand it out evenly after it dries, then repaint. If they are metal, simply sand out the marks and then repaint. Your local hardware store can help you with the grains of sandpaper you need.

Reply:Bondo works well repairing wood imperfections. Clean the damaged areas with sand paper, apply bondo with a putty knife, sand with 200 grit paper, prime and paint.
