How do I repair plantation shutters that have dog teeth marks in them?
Sand the area smooth, than use some wood putty over the bite marks. When dry, sand it smooth again with 320 grit sandpaper, prime the spot or spots with the correct primer,(water base interior,or oil-base exterior) than paint with a good quality paint.
Reply:Though it takes work, sand them out. An electric sander is faster, or you can do it by hand. Your choice.
Reply:i would putty it first not sand.....then sand it finely
Reply:ok there made from wood !!!.

take them apart and ,replace the bitten ones.or

fill the holes with wood putty.and repaint them ,if you take them a part they tend not to go back together to well, because of the glue, and they maywell be more damged than before. i would go for the filling method. or treat your self to new ones?
