How often should a dog be groomed? And how often should the dogs teeth be brushed?

it all depends on the breed of dog your talking about some need grooming more often than others especially if there kept long teeth are recommended every day

EDIT: the asker never mentioned the breed of dog they had, or what they meant by groomed. It could be brushing, bathing, ears, nails etc. how can ANYONE answer this question properly, unless they have ESP? Every dog does not require to be brushed DAILY some need to be brushed MORE than once, it all depends on the breed and the owners preference.

How often should a dog be groomed? And how often should the dogs teeth be brushed?
EVERY DAY (to both)

EDIT: to the answer below....DEPENDING on the breed most dogs need to be brushed EVERYDAY and some require 2-3 times a DAY. its sooo essential if you want your house to be fur free. plus it reduces the chances of your dog getting matts in his/her fur.

for the TEETH BRUSHING: dogs are very prone to gum desease. in order to reduce the chances, teeth brushing has to be done DAILY and if you can for some reason, ONCE A WEEK. but no more than that.

PS: when i say groom your dog everyday I DONT MEAN BATHS. NEVER give baths everyday, they should be done every month or every 4-6 months to be on the safe side as it can lead to skin problems. i mean BRUSH, clean ears, check nails, check skin etc.

good luck
Reply:Groomed once a month, as for tooth brushing, I%26#039;m not sure. I think like once a week, but I%26#039;ve never brushed any of my dogs teeth, and it%26#039;s never been an issue.
Reply:once a week for both ideally.

also watch what tooth paste you get your dog,

we used one especially for dogs on our dog and it made her sick.
Reply:Dogs should be washed about once a month and groomed at least once a week. Their teeth don%26#039;t really need to be brushed but you could either brush them weekly of give them %26quot;dental%26quot; dog biscuits. I hope this helps!
Reply:If your dog sleeps with you or gets on the furniture it should be washed once a week and brushed everyday..If it%26#039;s an outdoor dog once a month is fine for washing , but it still needs to be brushed everyday..If it%26#039;s an indoor dog not allowed on furniture every other week washing is good..brushing their teeth should be done at least once a week , but better if done twice a week..
Reply:The grooming depends on the kind of dog you have. Does it need to be clipped by a groomer? Does it have a pattern to the clip? If so then it is usually every 4 to 10 weeks depending on the clip.

If you dog is a short haired dog, daily brushing %26amp; a bath once a month is sufficient.

I don%26#039;t brush any of my dogs teeth. I provide all kinds of chew thingies to do that for them. There are many things on the market for this purpose.
Reply:Ideally, teeth should be brushed 3 - 4 times a week. As to grooming, that depends entirely on the breed. Smooth coated dogs need grooming several times a week to distribute oils, brush out dead hair, and keep coats in top condition.

Long-haired dogs need grooming more often to prevent them getting matted. There%26#039;s so many variables - is the dog shedding, blowing puppy coat, etc.
Reply:My Shepherd (short-haired) gets brushed thoroughly every third day, the other days she gets a quick stroke all over with a grooming mit. She only gets bathed if she has been rolling in something she shouldn%26#039;t! It%26#039;s not advisable to bathe a German Shepherd too often because of the nature of their coat, but bathing any dog strips the coat of it%26#039;s natural oils. Too many dogs are bathed so often they lose the natural protection of the oil and get skin problems from the shampoo used!Unless it%26#039;s a show dog every three months or so is enough! Because she is fed the Barf diet my dog never smells %26#039;doggy%26#039; and her coat is wonderful. Again because of her diet and the strong chew toys she has, I never need to brush her teeth and my vet has told me not to bother starting.

I used to brush my previous dogs teeth 3 times a week and groomed him daily but he was a long-haired Shepherd!

I%26#039;d say it depends on the breed and the length of coat and you haven%26#039;t given us those details so it%26#039;s hard to be more accurate!
Reply:This is a rather vague question. What do you consider %26quot;grooming%26quot;? Brushing? Bathing? A professional haircut? What breed do you have?

Teeth should ideally be brushed every day, no less than once per week for sure.

Short haired dogs should be bathed on an as-needed basis and brushed with a rubber curry comb a few times a week.

Long haired dogs should be brushed daily and given professional grooming every 6 weeks, give or take (some need 4, some can make it 8).
Reply:By groomed do you mean given a bath or brushed?

If you mean given a bath. . . .

It depends on the breed of dog, in general maybe once every week or so. Whatever you do, DON%26#039;T GIVE IT A BATH EVERY DAY! Or else it will attract ticks.

If you mean brushed. . . .

Again, it depends on the breed of dog. I think every day would be ideal, but at least once a week.

For brushing dog%26#039;s teeth. . . .

You should look at what%26#039;s recommended on the toothpaste. Most say about 3-5 times a week.

Consulting with your vet or groomer would be a good idea for all of this information. I just gave you a general idea of what%26#039;s recommended for my dog, a three-year-old mini Aussie.
